USS ARIZONA BB-39
She was hit by an armor piercing bomb that struck near her No.2 turret. The bomb crashed through the deck and exploded into a fuel tank. The fire reached 1.7 million pounds of explosives which threw the Arizona into the air, then left her fatally fractured on the harbor floor with more than one thousand of her crew instantly killed.

USS CALIFORNIA BB-44
Her crew suffered heavy casualties in the attack and four men were awarded the Medal of Honor for their actions.

She was hit by two bombs which caused minor damage and flooding.

USS NEVADA BB-36
The first and only battleship to get underway during the raid, Nevada was the object of intense attacks by Japanese aircraft. After receiving one torpedo and several bomb hits, she was purposely run aground at Hospital Point to avoid sinking and blocking the channel.

USS Oklahoma BB-37
She was hit by Japanese Type 91 aerial torpedoes. With her port side torn open over much of its length, she rolled over and sank to the harbor bottom. Many of the men trapped in her hull were cut free through intense efforts of Sailors and civilian Navy Yard employees.

USS Pennsylvania BB-38
She was in drydock at the Pearl Harbor Navy Yard away from the other battleships. She did suffer a bomb strike and the bulk of her damage came from flying debris from the nearby destroyers. A 1,000 lb. torpedo tube struck her forecastle.

USS TENNESSEE BB-43
She was hit by two bombs, which damaged her four gun turrets, and was scorched by burning oil from the sunken USS Arizona. She was wedged tightly between the sunken West Virginia and her mooring quay and had to be blasted free.

USS WEST VIRGINIA BB-48
She sustained multiple torpedo hits, and many of the deaths were from drowning after compartment hatches closed. The crew took counter-flooding measures to prevent the ship from capsizing, and it came to rest on the harbor floor.

USS VESTAL AR-4
She was moored outboard the USS Arizona when the attack took place. She was hit by two Japanese bombs and received additional damage from the Arizona's explosion.
USS CASSIN DD-372
She was in drydock at the time of the attack. She was hit by a bomb which passed through the ship, out the bottom, and exploded in the drydock between her and the USS Downes. This ruptured fuel tanks and fire broke out.
USS Downes DD-375
Fire spreading from the USS Cassin reached the ammo and torpedo warheads aboard the USS Downes. The explosion was devastating, forcing the crew to abandon ship. Six months after the attack the USS Downes was decommissioned. Her hull was damaged beyond repair. Some of her equipment that wasn't damaged was salvaged and shipped to Mare Island Navy Yard, and a new ship was built and given her name and hull number.
USS SHAW DD-373
She was also in drydock at the time of the attack. During the second strike wave she was hit with three bombs hitting the forward portion of the ship. She was ordered abandoned. A half hour after she was hit, her forward ammunition magazines detonated , completely removing her bow.
